King Ryan's 1st Birthday Feast!!

As I have mentioned so many times before The Bistro loves turning your events into memories. And this weekend was no different. Not only did they turn a 1st birthday into a wonderful family memory but they watched Ryan turn from a baby into a toddler, :)

I have a toddler and for those of you who are moms, dads, grandparents, aunts and uncles, we all know these kids of ours are priceless, the time we spend with them is cherished and the moments we watch them grow right in front of our eyes is like no other. Time passes so fast when you are a parent, and it seems nothing we can do will ever stop that, in fact I haven't even found anything that will slow it down.

I speak for The Bistro when I say, it gives us great joy to see families celebrating in our "home". We relish in watching parents see babies blow out the candles of their first cake, and then fall asleep in their mommy's arms because the party was just the right amount of icing and presents to end a good day. Ryan's 1st Birthday Party was one his friends and family will always remember.

The theme was "Rolling in Dough--A Feast For A King." And Ryan was the King. And just like any King, there was food for everyone!! With multiple food stations including a Mac & Cheese Bar, Pizza Pizza, Chicken Salads, Egg Salads, Ham, Stuffed Bread, Hummus and basically something for every guest in the King's Court.
The favors were adorable, Animal Cracker boxes, and as you can tell in the photos, the cake was amazing as well! I hope that the family enjoyed themselves as much as The Bistro did!

Ryan himself seemed to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere so much that he actually got to enjoy sleeping in his Mommy's arms, ahhh isn't that just the best feeling in the world?

And as for remembering Ryan's Birthday at The Bistro...we will never forget it---it will be cherished always by Ryan's engraved Initials and Date on the tree inside of The Bistro! A new tradition that will hold true for all celebrations that take place here. Come in and enjoy a celebration, a birthday, a graduation, a wedding and your initials and date will be engraved in our Memory Tree. We love to celebrate LIFE with all of those around us.
As for Ryan's parents--hold tight to him, he will only be small for so long, and soon he will be running after friends, catching frogs in the pond, and then off to school, catching girls! :) As a mommy, I celebrate his birthday with you and Ryan--The Bistro wishes you the best Happy 1st Birthday ever, and will always remember you :)

Vendor Of The Day.....Dogs, Cats & Memorial Day & Summer Vacations!

Even though most Bistro's don't dare talk about pets or dogs or pets in general, The Bistro knows full well animals and pets are part of most of our families. And since The Bistro at Our Town is here to help you with not only your culinary and tummy growling needs, we also are here to help refer you to the best businesses in Chester County, and one of them being who can help take care of your pets while you are away, be it one night or a weeks summer vacation to Tuscany, or Disney depending on your state of mind this year.

Have you thought about going away for Memorial Day weekend to enjoy the lovely beaches of the NJ coastline, or at least what is left of them? Or are you worried about who will take care of Spot when you and the kids enjoy Minnie and Mickey's Breakfast Brunch? We all worry about our pets and know that it becomes part of vacation planning when you own them.

SO this year, don't drop them off at a kennel, or ask the neighbor kids to check in on them, call Andy Brundage, owner and operator of Uncle's Dog Walking Service. Andy provides daily or occasional dog walking, overnights, weekends and week long vacation services. He will come to your home and I assure you, you will feel safe and secure about your pets and your home while you are away enjoying The Jersey Shore without the need of any fist pumps, and enjoy the Princess Parties at Disney without worrying if the neighbors remembered to put down enough Piddle pads for Patch.

Call now to book your pets summer vacation...while you are away they should enjoy themselves too!!

Brides---Check out this blog!! Breakfast at Tiffany's Bridal Shower or Under The Tuscan Sun Rehearsal Dinner !!!

I've been reading up on new trends in the bridal industry and how it would relate to The Bistro. One of the biggest things I found was that brides seem to be looking for less formal and more fun rehearsal dinner places. I can relate to this completely. My wedding was at a very formal elegant location, but we wanted our Rehearsal dinner to be fun and youthful and a bit more relaxed. I can't even tell you how hard it was to find a place like that, in fact we never really did. We had to compromise. We researched nearly every available local restaurant, hotel, party spot and 99% of them didn't even have an option to have a private party let alone do a personalized menu. The options we had were not the greatest. With that being said...The Bistro at Our Town is everything I was looking for years ago and I am sure it is what you are looking for too!

It is able to accommodate small and large parties, it has great atmosphere, and best of all the menu is customizable to your event needs!! This is THE place to host a party. Your guests will be treated to an event to remember and food that will melt in their mouths.

If you are looking for a bridal event with a twist THINK....Breakfast At Tiffany's Bridal Shower...Eggs Benedict, Creme Brulee, Stuffed French Toast, and delicious Mimosas or a romantic Under The Tuscan Sun themed Rehersal Dinner....all of these themes under the beautiful Tuscan Skies of The Bistro at Our Town.

Whether or not you want formal or casual, night time or afternoon, this is the place for you. I can't emphasize enough how amazing this place would be for your event.

So if you are planning your wedding, and need help with a location for your Reception, Rehearsal Dinner, Shower, or even looking for a place to start your Bachelorette party...think about The Bistro !!

We can help you the catering, and all of your event needs: flowers, invitations, DJs, Bands, Bakers, Gifts, Favors and anything else you need to make your wedding your own!

Email me for a special offer for Free Meals for the Bride & Groom....valid for Rehearsal Dinners, Showers, and Receptions at The Bistro.

Vendor of The Day......Yummy, Romantic & Great for Parties!!

Are you curious yet? What can be yummy and romantic and great for parties all in one? Candles!! We would like to welcome one of The Bistro's newest members...Somewhere in Time Candles. www.somewhereintimecandles.com

Whether you are looking for a great gift for a mom, teacher, friend, or if you are looking for a fabulous favor for an upcoming party, Candles can do the trick. Don't ever underestimate the impact of a delicious candle wrapped up in a pretty bag with a card. Such a simple yet loved gift!

I am such a sucker for candles. I light them even when I am home alone, I think they make you feel good. The aroma can transport you to another place even when you are just stuck behind your computer. I am very season appropriate with candles. During the fall I must have someone fall related burning...whether it be cinnamon apples, or pumpkin spice. During Christmas I stick to candy canes or evergreen, although I would NEVER burn evergreen in March or any other month besides December. And summer...awww I love to enjoy the Caribbean smells, yes the ones that smell like suntan location or beaches. I don't get to the beach too often, so why not pretend I am there while I am at home. And since I hate bathing suits, I curl up in a sun dress, turn the air off, light the candle and enjoy the aroma of my beach getaway! And don't forget the frozen Pina Colada in hand!

So next time you want to take a mini vacation in your own home, or you need a fun gift for just about anyone, check out www.somewhereintimecandles.com Somewhere in Time Candles is a local Chester County County company. They are handmade and love creating custom orders, so if you don't see a scent that you are looking for, email them your ideas!!

Great ideas for teachers gifts, summer birthdays, house warming gift baskets, and don't forget those moms who always have your kids over for a play date--this would make a perfect thanks to them!

Happy May everyone!!

Summer Bucket List....and WIN A $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE

If you have been following my blogs for a while you know that I love winter, and snow and cold. With that being said, as I wrote before, I also love every season, that's why I love Chester County!

The fact that Easter is already passed, Cinco de Mayo is a behind us and Memorial Day and Summer are only weeks away, I sit and think about all the fun this summer will bring. Family parties and picnics, graduations, summer weddings, baby and bridal showers, 4th of July fireworks, trips to the beach, lounging at the pool, fire company carnivals with yummy delicious funnel cakes and who can forget Family Road Trips! And not to mention all the things that we wish we could forget over the summer....sunburn, mosquitoes, sand in your bathing suit, men in speedos, and looking out of your office window on a beautiful summer day and wishing you could be outside--even worse, not having an office window!

We all enjoy certain things about Summer and I really feel Summer is a time for memories to be created. So many celebrations take place over the summer, and so many new traditions are started.
Here is your homework....and it's also how you can win a $25 gift certificate to The Bistro!!!
Make a list after you read this blog, a bucket list of sorts...write down all the things you want to accomplish in Summer of 2010. Make sure to include things for your kids to do, for you to do alone, and for you to enjoy with your family. Include things such as camping at a PA park, rafting on the Brandywine, a day at Hershey park. Be specific. Instead of writing "Attend a local carnival".....write "Ride the zipper at the fair". Make sure you list at least 10 things! I will be checking in throughout the summer and am anxious to hear how you are doing with your list!

To be entered into the drawing, submit your Bucket List to me through email. A random winner will be pulled on June 1st and announced on Facebook and through the blog. Email your bucket list to: ourtownexton@aol.com Subject: Bucket List 2010

For those things on your list that are task oriented...host a graduation party for Joe's college graduation from Penn State, host a bridal shower for Jillian, or throw a 4th of July Neighborhood party---call The Bistro! We can help you check off your bucket list. We are here to help you throw parties, create a memorable celebration and start new traditions!!
Call now for your personalized menu and event needs!! Lots of parties are already book so to reserve your space for anytime in 2010, BOOK NOW!!!! No party is too small or too large. No event is too casual or too formal. The Bistro can provide on site catering at our location, off site catering at your venue, and can help with music, flowers, decorations and more!!! The Bistro will make this event a memory! Call and talk to Jillian, 484-872-8793

Can't wait to hear all about your Bucket Lists...and some of the great entries will be posted on my blog! So stay tuned for more to come!!

~Happy Summer 2010
