Cooking Class--little bit of chicken..little bit of bread pudding and lot of "charm"!

So my pants size has again gone up after listening to the stories and reading recipes from last night's cooking class. And after hearing of the very nice young gentleman who was one of the students, I am very glad I wasn't sitting at the table next to him while my pants popped from eating too much of the delicious food!

This class enjoyed learning how to start with a simple breaded chicken and by changing a few ingredients, turned it into three separate recipes. Think..Foccacia Sundried Tomato Pesto & Goat Cheese, Chicken Picatta, Saltimbuca, and Cordon Bleu. YUMMY!! The chefs started with a Bechamel, that then they turned into a cheese sauce for Mac and Cheese, then turning that into a Gorgonzola and Bacon Cheese Sauce.

So if you aren't already hooked and want to sign on for the next class..wait till you hear about dessert. Bread Pudding. The class while readjusting the buttons on their pants, and secretly, or not so secretly admiring the mystery student, "Joey" we will call him, then learned how to make 4 recipes from this simple classic one. One of the students told us that she not only had a great evening but really is exciting about next week being in the kitchen and being hands on! That's how we roll here at The Bistro, giving the people what they want.

So I don't know about you but after writing these food blogs, I am left with mixed feelings...bloated and starved beyond belief? How is that possible? I am hoping that soon they will start a weight loss class so that all of us gaining weight on these recipes are soon able to take it back off....or we won't have a chance with "Joey".

Again..another wonderful night of making new friends, making new foods, and coming together for a fabulous evening. What else do you expect at The Bistro?

Next week's class, two of this week's star students, Carrie and Amelia will be the Sous Chefs...you know what they say about too many chefs in the kitchen...stay tuned!!
