Africa has become a continent of orphans having lost their parents to AIDS. In the midst of this devastation, grandmothers have emerged as the 'unsung heroes' of Africa. They bury their own children and then in their 50s, 60s and 70s begin to parent again, raising their grandchildren with little or no support. The Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign seeks to raise awareness and mobilize support for these African grandmothers. More than 240 groups of Canadian grandmothers have taken up the call to action and the campaign has raised over $10 million. The campaign supports community-level organizations in 15 sub-Saharan African countries that provide grandmothers with much needed support, such as food, housing grants, school fees for their grandchildren and grief counseling.

Precious Preludes-6 months – 2 years old
Prelude: An introductory movement to a piece of music.
This 30 minute class is designed as an introduction to the world of music. Parents and babies will sing, dance and play along to all the classic children's songs. The music theory concepts of rhythm, tempo and dynamics will be introduced through fun activities. Instruments and other tools will be used to capture attention and develop a lifelong love of music!
Creative Crescendos-2 to 4 years old
Crescendo: Growing, i.e. progressively louder.
In our toddler group, we build onto our musical foundation by introducing more advanced music theory concepts. Through games, activities and, of course, playing music, children begin to learn music terminology, major vs. minor key signatures, styles of music and much more! The 45 minute weekly, themed classes will teach children music theory in a logical, progressive, and most importantly fun way!
Tutti Time-Family Music Circle
Tutti: “All” a direction for the entire ensemble to sing or play simultaneously.
At Learning Allegro, we encourage families to enjoy music together. Tutti Time is a 45 minute class designed for all ages. Parent and caregivers are encouraged to dance, sing and celebrate music with the kids. Tutti Time intentionally uses familiar songs and rhymes so that families can continue to share the joy of music with one another at home
